Program Abstract

Investigating fires involving commercial kitchens is complex, multi-layered, and multi-nodal. This module provides an investigative framework to work from and discusses some of the intricacies of major commercial kitchen systems and activities as they relate to possible fire origin and cause. The module also touches on the many records and documents that the investigator must review to inform their origin and cause determination.

This module is not a comprehensive course on investigating commercial kitchen fires. Investigators are encouraged to seek additional, detailed training in commercial kitchen fires.

CFITrainer.Net recommends taking the module Commercial Kitchen Fires 1: Fundamentals before taking this module. The knowledge from the first module will be assumed in this module.
